Firefighters Pay Tribute to James L. Haines

Woodlawn, Cetronia and Greenawalds firefighters were on hand for funeral services Wednesday for former Woodlawn Assistant Fire Chief James L. Haines Sr., who died July 5.

The firefighters were among the many mourners at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 822 N. 19th St., Allentown, who remembered and honored Haines, owner and operator of for 19 years.

Firefighters in white gloves formed an honor guard as his casket was carried from the church. Fire trucks and vehicles led the funeral procession to Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown.

Haines' oldest daughter, Patricia, who delivered an eulogy, spoke of her father's love of his wife, Lois, his family and life itself. She said her father believed his time on earth was "just a visit" and so to take time to listen and cherish visits.
