Independent schools are nonprofit organizations, governed by independent boards and funded primarily through tuition, charitable contributions, and endowment income. These schools define their own missions and philosophies, design their own academic programs, and develop their own policies and procedures. They also follow an admissions process that attracts students whose needs will be met by that school’s mission and education program.
