Tracy: Where do you think people go when they leave New York?
Marcello: The real world
The first time I saw Manhattan on tv I made a wish to find myself at the mercy of this geographical center. Actually the first thing I remember watching on tv was the moon landing. I was four years old, after that I always dreamed of becoming an airline pilot. To my dismay I would find out as I studied math at Wescosville school, it would not be one of my stronger subjects. As I grew older I realized I was a free spirit bohemian and landing a job sitting in an office all day or working for someone else not in my life plan.
Tracy: New York is the perfect place to be single. The city is your date.
Marcello: Your dating the city?
Tracy: YES! For about four years, I think it's getting serious. I think I have fallen madly in love.
I love New York because we order pizza from the Italian place across the street.(it's really the Mexican's working there) and have our laundry delivered. (we have everything delivered) We take a taxi to the gym, us girls always join Soul Cycle. We know exactly what we want out of life and our careers but can't decide where to have dinner. We make plans and never keep them. (this is sooo mee, these are sooo my people!) We think a studio apartment for $1,500 a month a steal, but get upset when our favorite coffee stop raises their prices 25 cents. We fight with cabbies about their driving skills but haven't driven in years or don't have drivers licenses.
Reinventing myself in New York after my divorce was the ultimate therapy any gal could partake in. Working in the hairdressing scene in this bus stop city was a dream of a life time. My life doing hair in these vastly different cities sometimes causing me to freak how behind my hometown was in hair fashion. Valley women wearing the "Mom Bob" in NYC women wearing very long hair. The average NYC gal spending $6,000 to $10,000 a year on blow dry's! OH MY, how would your husbands feel about that?
Here are some pictures of the city I fell in love with. Enjoy, my New York.
Ciao
