Man Pleads Guilty to Aiming Car at South Whitehall Officer

Accused of trying to run down a South Whitehall police officer, William Lee Blake of Allentown pleads guilty to lesser charges. He is to be sentenced June 11, according to the Express-Times.

An Allentown man, who South Whitehall police say tried to an officer, pleaded guilty to lesser charges and is slated to be sentenced June 11.

William Lee Blake, 34, was involved in a domestic dispute  Aug. 11 in which he used a lawn chair to smash windows at the home of his girlfriend, Jessica Snyder of Shiloh Court in South Whitehall, according to township police. In a later confrontation, Blake allegedly threatened by phone to "kill some cops" and veered his car toward Township Police Officer Jason Grozier, according to a story in the Express-Times.

Blake pleaded guilty to recklessly endangering another person and attempting to elude a police officer. He is slated to be sentenced June 11, the Express-Times reported.

Due to the plea deal, felony charges, including aggravated assault of a police officer and aggravated assault with the deadly weapon, were withdrawn.
