Random thoughts...

1.) I read an article tonight about 10 signs of being gluten intolerant. Many doctors are not willing to work with you in helping you determine if you have a sensitivity to gluten or may have celiac disease (an autoimmune disorder where your body thinks the gluten protein of wheat, rye, and barley is a space invader which triggers your immune system to attack and destroy the lining in your small intestine). But more doctors are becoming aware of how gluten intolerance affects your overall physical, spiritual, and mental well being, and working with your doctor, insisting on being tested for celiac disease, and eliminating gluten-containing products from your diet is worth it for me and for so many people. Here's the link to the article...

2) I've been thinking a lot about boundaries today. Sometimes, people think it's selfish or mean to have boundaries, especially if you're a Christian. But without good boundaries for ourselves and the world around us, we often can become immobilized by fear of losing friends just because we go along with the crowd and do something silly or harmful even if you don't want to. But having good, healthy boundaries can help us become more like Jesus and follow his example. Jesus had good boundaries with others, such as the time in Mark 5:21-43 when he showed compassion on others when he healed both a synagogue leader's daughter and a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years. Although others thought he was crazy to make time to heal both of them, especially when the woman had interrupted him on his way to the young girl's house he did so because he knew both of them were important enough to heal. Jesus also had good boundaries when he threw out the money changers from the temple in Matthew 21:1-17 and told them quite angrily to stop robbing others who had come to offer their sacrifices. How ironic that Jesus would chase the "den of thieves" from the temple right after his triumphal entry into Jerusalem in a parade that made him look so great. I bet the religious leaders of the time were totally confused at the 180 degree turnaround in Jesus. It may seem puzzling to some people why these two events are linked together, but, as Nancy Leigh DeMoss says, we have to be prepared to fight the battle after a battle that has been won. We may have a great awakening at a retreat or may be at peace with a decision  you made, but I guarantee that something crazy will happen the minute I walk into my house and I have to get better at being prepared for anything...including spiritual warfare.

3. I'm tired. If I write anymore, I think I'm gonna fall asleep. I'll write more tomorrow, and I'm looking forward to hearing about your lives.
