You and Your Children May Be Affected by "Agent Orange"

Free Town Hall Meeting September 15, 2015. Topic is Agent Orange - its effects on Vietnam veterans and how it might affect the public now.

You and Your Children May Be Affected by “Agent Orange”
Not Only Vietnam Veterans Have Been Exposed to Dangerous Herbicides

Untold numbers of Vietnam veterans were exposed to Agent Orange and other herbicides while serving their country – but only recently did the federal government openly acknowledge that chemicals used as “defoliants” were, in fact, toxic to them.

While many of these veterans suffered recurring and chronic illnesses ranging from heart disease to diabetes to deadly cancers perhaps worse is the yet unacknowledged effect these toxic defoliants have had on their children and grandchildren (who are exhibiting higher incidences of disease, birth defects and disabilities than should normally be expected). The federal government continues to refuse to thoroughly study the matter.

Now we are discovering that these poisons are being used in the growing of our food supplies in various ways. What was once thought to be a concern limited to Vietnam veterans should now be recognized as a threat to the general public as well.

As a result, the local Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 415 is hosting a free seminar, an Agent Orange Town Hall Meeting, to reach out to the families of Vietnam veterans and the public to heighten their awareness through education and to instruct them on how to respond.

Nationally recognized speakers will speak to the following agenda:
1) Understanding what Agent Orange is and how it was initially used;
2) Its legacy effect on the children of our Vietnam-era veterans; e.g. birth defects;
3) The continuing use of Agent Orange in the growing of our food supplies and the possible effect on the general public.

A panel discussion will follow to answer questions, to provide resources for additional information and to explain how one can help.
