• 2 in custody after fleeing Springfield police, crashing in Lower Merion (delcotimes.com) — A police pursuit that started in Springfield on Thursday ended with a crash in Lower Merion and two suspects taken into custody, with no injuries reported. Springfield’s police chief says detectives are still piecing together what led to the chase, and more details are expected. Multiple nearby departments assisted as the vehicle crashed near City and Lancaster avenues.    

• Upper Darby man gets 39 months for role in $940,000 in vehicle thefts (delcotimes.com) — Springfield Township Police helped investigate a multi-year vehicle theft scheme that hit dealerships and rental companies in both Springfield and Upper Darby, leading to federal prison sentences. A 37-year-old Upper Darby man and a Philadelphia co-defendant must also pay substantial restitution for stealing dozens of vehicles and heavy equipment using fraudulent IDs.
