SPRINGFIELD, PA — Miller's Ale House, a national sports bar chain, has permanently closed its Springfield location.
The closure seemed to be abrupt. A sign on the door — shared Sunday in Facebook group Delco Sound Off — says the location has closed and recommends that patrons visit the nearest Miller's in Media.
"We appreciate your loyalty and thank you for your support," the sign says.
The reason for the closure is unclear. A Miller's spokesperson didn't immediately return comment.
Miller's currently has 114 locations, mostly in Florida. About a dozen locations are in Greater Philadelphia, including restaurants in Media, South Philly and Plymouth Meeting.
The chain is owned by Roark Capital — a private-equity firm that owns several major restaurant chains, including Dunkin', Subway and Arby's.
Miller's of Springfield was located at 18 Baltimore Pike.
