10th Annual Hubert J.P. Schoemaker Classic

Melmark is hosting their 10th Annual Hubert J.P. Schoemaker Golf Classic.

On Monday, October 5th, the Philadelphia life sciences and business community will gather for the 10th annual Hubert J.P. Schoemaker Classic to benefit Melmark, with Title Sponsor Accenture. This event is different from most charity golf tournaments in that it’s organized completely by CEOs and other key leaders from the Greater Philadelphia life sciences, law, real estate and business communities.

The Schoemaker Classic includes a day of golf on one of three premier golf courses: Waynesborough Country Club, Gulph Mills Golf Club and St. David’s Golf Club. Golf is followed by a cocktail reception, silent auction and dinner, with a live auction, all at Waynesborough.

Founded in 2006, by Lee Ahrensdorf, President of Ahrensdorf and Associates, the Schoemaker Classic has become the major charity event for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The Classic was founded in memory of the late Hubert J.P.Schoemaker, a leader and advocate in the region’s life sciences community and founder of Centocor. Schoemaker, whose eldest daughter lived at Melmark for 28 years, was well know for giving back to the community, especially to children and adults with special needs. The Schoemaker Classic benefits Melmark, a non-profit organization based in Berwyn that provides residential, educational, vocational and therapeutic services for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other neurological and genetic disorders.
