3 Meetings On How To Support The Berwyn Fire Company Coming Up

BERWYN, PA — Just a few more meetings on how the public can support the Berwyn Fire Company are left, and we want to make sure you know about them.

The fire company has been holding meetings for members of the community on how they can support the fire company.

Community members will learn the importance of understanding who the fire company is, how it operates, why it needs increased paid staffing, and the reasons behind the fire company facing pressure with increasing expenses and declining financial reserves.

The meetings are:

• Thursday, June 20 — 7 p.m.
• Thursday, June 27 — 7 p.m.
• Saturday, June 29 — 10 a.m.

All meetings are being held in the Berwyn Fire Company, 23 Bridge Ave. in Berwyn.

"As we continue to work diligently with Tredyffrin and Easttown Township Supervisors and Staff on a long-term sustainable funding solution, we need you to support our efforts," the fire company said. "While Township financial support has increased over the years, so have the expenses associated with running a 24x7 emergency response organization. The best way to show support is to be educated on the issues and to become part of the solution"

The meeting will follow a short town-hall format to discuss the current staffing and financial issues and how it directly affects our ability to provide essential fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the community.

Attendees will get insight into the work of volunteers, paid staffing needs, working towards a national standard on response times, current and future fire station needs and overall pressures on the fire/EMS system.

A question and answer session will follow the short presentation.

The meetings are not fund-raising events and are solely for the purpose of better informing neighbors with regard to the company's specific needs and why it's so important to have these issues addressed proactively.
