American Treasure Tour In Valley Forge Area: 'Hidden Gem of Eclectic Americana'

OAKS, PA – One of the southeastern Pennsylvania’s most distinctive attractions has extended its hours because of popular demand. The American Treasure Tour located in Oaks, now offers walk-in hours on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the hour, according to a press release.

From the time of its opening in 2010, the tour has been gaining in popularity as visitors experience an expansive collection of American antiques, pop culture and assorted memorabilia curated by an anonymous private collector, the release states.

A 50-minute guided tram tour takes visitors through 100,000 square-feet of Americana. Quirky items include a castle made entirely of 369,000 popsicle sticks, as well as a giant 12-foot women’s high-heeled shoe. The tour is also home to one of the largest displays of mechanical music (orchestrions, band organs and music boxes) in the country, the company said.

Operated by Valley Forge Promotions, the venue said they had seen a steady increase in visitation since the tour schedule was modified in July.

“We realized that there was a demand for walk-in hours based on the feedback we received from people visiting other attractions in the complex, such as Arnold's Family Fun Center and those attending tradeshows at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center,” said Virginia Frey, Director, American Treasure Tour, in a statement.

Before the schedule change the tour was open to reserved group tours with a minimum of 15 people or custom tours for two to 14, as well as to student and scout groups.

The general admission cost of the tour ranges from $21.95 for adults to $9.95 for kids aged three to 12. Group and custom tour prices vary and are available on the American Treasure Tour website.
