Felker, who has 38 years of volunteer and combination fire and EMS experience, will oversee emergency services in coordination with the Berwyn, Paoli and Radnor fire companies. He is scheduled to begin full-time employment with the commission Nov. 2.

The Tredyffrin-Easttown Fire Commission was established in December 2025 by the Tredyffrin and Easttown township supervisors to oversee consolidated fire and EMS services for both towns.

Felker has spent 20 years serving in chief officer roles. He was volunteer fire chief of Collingdale Fire Company No. 1 in Delaware County from 1999 to 2001 and served as volunteer fire chief of the West Grove Fire Company in Chester County from 2013-15 and 2023-25.

Felker is a life member of Collingdale Fire Company No. 1, where his father died in the line of duty in 1978. His three brothers also work in public safety roles in fire service and law enforcement, according to the commission.

Felker has also spent three decades working in health care. After completing studies at Drexel and Eastern universities and becoming a physician assistant, he began working in the health care field in 1996.

Most recently, he worked at Penn Medicine Chester County Hospital as an emergency care specialist physician assistant. He has also worked as a part-time firefighter and EMT with Springfield Fire Company in Delaware County.

Felker is credentialed as a Pennsylvania Chief Officer through the Pennsylvania Municipal League and Pennsylvania Career Fire Chiefs Association.

He is also a member of several professional organizations, including the International Association of Fire Chiefs, Delaware Valley Chiefs Association, Chester County Fire Chiefs Association and Southern Chester County Chiefs Association.

The five-member fire commission is made up of three appointed supervisors from Tredyffrin and two appointed Easttown supervisors. They serve one-year terms.
