Nor'Easter Causes Damage, Outages In Tredyffrin, Easttown

BERWYN, PA — While it wasn't anything like the Jersey Shore chaos, things weren't pretty in Tredyffrin and Easttown during the weekend nor'easter.

Powerful winds accompanied persistent rain and took down trees and power lines while causing power outages. Gusts of 40 to 45 mph were forecasted, and the National Weather Service says 2.32 inches of rain fell in Berwyn as of Sunday morning.

The Berwyn Fire Company reported Saturday that it had already responded to seven calls that day, including several cases of downed trees and wires.

Tredyffrin and Easttown police reported the following road closures over the weekend:

• Old Eagle School Road between Laurel Lane and Fernfield Circle
• Upper Weadley Road at Harwick Road
• Darby Paoli Road between Prescott and Millbrook Roads
• Waterloo Road between Church and Beaumont Roads and between South Devon Avenue and Exeter Road

Many roadways have reopened.

Several local businesses reported power outages over the weekend, including The Bakery House in Paoli, which recently opened.

As of Monday morning, there are no longer any power outages in Easttown, according to PECO. There is only one in Tredyffrin.

• Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Northwest wind around 5 mph.
• Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Calm wind.
• Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.
