PAOLI, PA — An emerging chain of health-focused cafés will celebrate the grand opening of its Paoli location later this month with free bowls for some early arrivals, family activities, giveaways and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Goodness Bowls will celebrate the Paoli grand opening from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 17 at 5 Paoli Plaza.
The first 50 guests in line who sign up for the company's rewards program will receive a free Avalon Bowl, according to Goodness Bowls. The event will also feature a live DJ, face painting, balloon art, giveaways and raffle prizes. An official ribbon cutting is scheduled for 9 a.m.
A portion of proceeds from the grand opening will benefit the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of Breakthrough T1D, a type 1 diabetes research and advocacy organization.
The 1,300-square-foot Paoli café opened in July and serves açaí bowls, smoothies, salads, wraps, toast and specialty coffee.
Goodness Bowls was founded on the Jersey Shore in 2019. But five of the nine locations are now in Philadelphia's western suburbs, including Main Line shops in Villanova and Narberth.
Paoli's location is owned by East Goshen resident Heather MacFarland Wellock, who said she and her four children were regular customers at Goodness Bowls in Avalon, a Jersey Shore community. Then she decided to open a franchise of her own.
"As a busy mom with kids in multiple sports, I know how much local families are seeking convenient, healthy options," MacFarland Wellock said in a statement. "I'm excited to bring that to Paoli and look forward to welcoming new members to the Goodness Bowls community."
Goodness Bowls of Paoli is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
