Art of Radnor Township and the Republic of Botswana at the Wayne Art Center!
Openings for Expressions of Radnor and the National Art of Botswana: Contemporary Art and Craft 3:00-5:00 Sunday, February 22.
The Wayne Art Center will be hosting the openings for two new exhibitions featuring artists from both near and far. Expressions of Radnor 2015 and The National Art of Botswana: Contemporary Art and Craft will formally open on Sunday, February 22, from 3:00 - 5:00pm. Please join us for a talk by Phillip Segola, Botswana’s widely renowned artist and curator of the exhibition, a basket-making demonstration by artist Moruledi Jeremiah, traditional African dancing, awards, refreshments and more.
Expressions of Radnor features paintings, photographs and sculpture by residents of Radnor Township, highlighting the wealth of talent and creativity in the local area. Awards will be given during the opening.
The National Art of Botswana: Contemporary Art and Craft showcases the talent of painters, printmakers, photographers and basket weavers from Botswana. Developed by the Wayne Art Center in conjunction with Ambassador Seretse, of the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture in Botswana, and Dr. Harvey and Cindy Friedman, this exhibition represents the first collaboration of its kind in the United States.

The openings and exhibits are free to the public, although donations are appreciated. The Wayne Art Center is regularly open from 9am - 7pm Monday-Thursday, 9am - 7pm on Friday and 9am - 4pm on Saturday.
