Berwyn Fire Company Is Hiring Firefighters, EMTs, Medics

BERWYN, PA — The Berwyn Fire Company is hiring firefighters, medics, and EMTs.

Positions include full-time firefighters/medics or medics; and part-time firefighters/medics, firefighters/EMTs, and medics.

Full-time starting rates are $27 to $29 per hour for firefighters/FF/EMTs/AEMTs and $30.50 to $33 per hour for firefighters/medics and medics.

The work schedule features a 24/7 staffing model with built-in overtime and provides 204 paid time-off hours. The jobs also include 48 hours of paid training.

Members will also receive paid certification refreshers, longevity pay, 403(b) retirement plan company match, and health, dental, and vision insurance. Long- and short-term disability is also available.

Part-time pay is $27.50 an hour for firefighters/EMTs and firefighters/AEMTs, as well as $31 per hour for firefighters/medics. Bonuses available for consistent hours, with 10-, 12-, and 24-hour shifts available.

Below are the minimum qualifications for these positions:

• 21 years of age
• Valid PA Driver’s License
• PA Paramedic, PA AEMT, or PA EMT Certification with EMSVO
• Firefighter 1 Certification (Pro-Board or IFSAC) for the firefighter position
• Vehicle Rescue Operations or equivalent for a firefighter position
• Hazardous Materials Operations
• EVOC or EVDT
• Fire Pump Operations 1 for FF Position
• NIMS IS 100, 200, 700, and 800
• Current PALS and ACLS for Medic position
• Ability to pass an NFPA entrance physical & Background checks
