Berwyn Microbiologist Wins On Jeopardy!

Lisa Schlitt took on previous champ Christy Karras, who won more than $30,000 on Thursday's show.

A Berwyn resident showed her intellectual prowess on one of the nation's most famous and prestigious game show, as microbiologist Lisa Schlitt will competed on Jeopardy! Friday night.

Schlitt came out on top in the game show, winning $27,600 after betting nearly all her money in final jeopardy.

Schlitt competed against Paul Cox, a portfolio manager from Austin, Texas, and former champion Christy Karras, a writer and editor from Seattle, Washington.

Karras won $30,600 on Thursday's show in her first appearance on the trivia competition.

Schlitt told Maine Line Media News she grew up watching Jeopardy! with her father and said earning a spot on the long-running show was a "complete surprise."

Schlitt will return to the show on Monday at 7 p.m. on ABC.
