Blood Drive Coming To Wayne Thursday

Giving blood is a great way to celebrate National Volunteer Month.

The American Red Cross is offering many blood drives throughout April as part of National Volunteer Month. A drive is being held in Wayne on Thursday, April 13, so clear your calendar.

The drive will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Club La Maison, 215 Sugartown Road, Wayne.

"I think it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do, knowing that such a simple act can have such a positive impact on another human being in a time of need," Bill Parr, who has been donating blood for more than three decades, said of donating.

According to the Red Cross, nearly 2.8 million people donated blood through the Red Cross last year.

Volunteer donors are the only source of blood products for those in need of transfusions. Donors of all blood types are needed this spring, the Red Cross said.
