Bridge Rehab Work In Tredyffrin To Last Through Late March

PennDOT said it will start work to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Bear Hill Road/Route 252​ over Norfolk Southern Railroad next week.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Work to rehabilitate a bridge in Tredyffrin Township will begin next week and last through late March, with the entire project expected to be finished later this year, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT said work to rehabilitate the bridge carrying Bear Hill Road/Route 252 over Norfolk Southern Railroad is slated to start Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Right lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Bear Hill Road between Hilltop Road and Heatherstone Drive.

Closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Tuesday. PennDOT said the closures will last through late March.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent. The anticipated completion date for this rehabilitation project is fall this year.

PennDOT’s contractor will rehabilitate the structure over Norfolk Southern Railroad by adding concrete overlay to the bridge deck; performing concrete substructure repairs; replacing and resealing the bridge deck joints; installing scour rock protection; and milling and paving the roadway.
