Burglary, Scam, Thefts, Possession: Tredyffrin Police Report

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – Tredyffrin Township Police issued their latest crime report on Thursday, Oct. 27.

The new report highlights police activity between Oct. 17 and Oct. 24 in the township.

Police handled a burglary, underage drinking, drug possession, and are alerting residents to phone scams targeting older residents, among others incidents.

PHONE SCAMS

Police warn residents of phone scams circulating – whether it’s a “grandchild” calling because they’ve been in an accident and needs money or people calling from the IRS demanding payment. No one from the IRS will ever call asking for money or any type of gift cards as payment and always check with your family before purchasing gift cards for payment over the phone for the grandchildren in trouble. Scammers use creative ways to trick elderly victims.

POSSESSION

Oct. 17, Route 202 – During a traffic stop, Natassja Thomas-Mack, 18, of West Chester, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

POSSESSION

Oct. 18, Chesterbrook Boulevard – During a traffic stop, Islas Gonzalez, 20, of Norristown, was charged with a small amount of marijuana.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS

Oct. 19, Starbucks in Gateway Shopping Center – A 52-year-old male from King of Prussia was charged with public drunkenness after police were dispatched to a disturbance in the restaurant.

UNDERAGE DRINKING

Oct. 20, Cabrini College parking lot – Two 20-year-old males from Philadelphia were charged with underage drinking during a traffic stop.

BURGLARY

Oct. 23, 800 block of Hollow Road in Wayne – A burglary was discovered by the homeowner. The home is under construction and missing is a new Viking Oven, valued at $3,000. The case is under investigation.

RETAIL THEFT

Oct. 23, TJ Maxx in the Gateway Shopping Center – The store’s Loss Prevention reported a female was observed concealing several jackets, cashmere sweaters and a denim jacket. The actor was confronted at the store and dropped the jackets, but ran out with the other clothing. The 22 jackets were valued at $1,800 and the stolen clothing was valued at $190. The case is under investigation.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

Oct. 24, Princeton Road in Wayne – The victim reported a briefcase containing work related paperwork was stolen from their vehicle. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked at that time.

ATTEMPTED RETAIL THEFT

Oct. 24, Paoli Acme store – The store’s Loss Prevention reported the attempted theft of several cases of Monster and Red Bull drinks valued at $715. The actors were observed on the surveillance system. The case is under investigation.

THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS WERE ARRESTED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE. THE LAB RESULTS AND/OR CHEMICAL BREATH TESTING HAVE BEEN OFFICIALLY VERIFIED AND DETERMINED TO BE UNFIT TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE SAFELY ON THE ROADWAY.

Brett Bell, 34, of Conshohocken – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was .161 percent

Catherine Schneider, 53, of Wayne – BAC was .287 percent

Nabil Waris, 29, of Newtown Square – BAC was .126 percent
