Jahn, who legally owned his firearms and had obtained a concealed carry permit, called 911 himself hours before the incident. Police said they attempted to escort him to Paoli Hospital to voluntarily commit himself, but he refused treatment when he arrived.
Jahn then drove back and forth throughout Tredyffrin, Easttown and Radnor over the next two hours, the affidavit says. The shooting occurred as Nieberle was driving on Contention Lane near Old State Road.
