Dick Bolles, author of What Color is Your Parachute? wrote the forward and 16 career coaches from around the country contributed in their area of expertise, including one from Chester County. Lynne Williams, Director of the Philadelphia Area Great Careers Group on meetup, tirelessly volunteers in the local career transition community outside of her full-time job helping millennials starting their first jobs to boomers getting downsized and everyone inbetween. Most of her time is spent moderating networking meetings along the Main Line and teaching LinkedIn and other workshops locally at Chester & Delaware County libraries, at Chambers of Commerce, universities, for other groups and organizations, and for Chester and Delaware County SCORE.
It all started over two years ago, when Lynne wrote an article on the Applicant Tracking System for the Association of Talent Development and they published it to their international audience. Sue Kaiden, Editor of this new book commented “This article has been one of the most viewed on our blog this year. The detailed content is an excellent resource for anyone who is trying to apply to positions on-line and wondering why they're not getting a response!”

The article was subsequently expanded to become Chapter 8 of the book. Lynne’s chapter is on Applying for Positions and includes information on the hidden job market, salary, applying for jobs online through the Applicant Tracking System, cover letters, and more. Examples of resumes, Applicant Tracking System friendly resumes, cover letters, value proposition letters, and more are included in the Appendices.
If you have family and/or friends exploring new opportunities or they want to maintain their professional documentation for career management, the book can be ordered at www.greatcareersphl.org/shop and Lynne will even autograph it if you would like.
Find Your Fit is available to librarians, career centers, and other reviewers on NetGalley through November 20, 2016. Professors are invited to request a desk copy from the publisher.
Another article by Lynne published by the ATD is called Building Your Personal Brand Online and Offline and is also posted on Lynne’s LinkedIn profile.
