Conestoga HS School Performance Profile Score Jumps Over Seven Points
Increase comes after two years of dropping scores.

The newest School Performance Profile scores from the Pennsylvania state department of education bode well for the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District, as the Conestoga High School score has risen substantially from the 2014-2015 scores.
According to the department of education, the high school earned a 91.4 total academic score for the 2015-2016 school year. This is a significant increase from the 2014-2015 year, when the high school tallied a 83.9 overall academic score.
The data provided by the department shows the high school's score had dropped two years in a row, with the 2012-2013 score being 95.9, the 2013-2014 score being 90.9, and the 83.9 for the previous year.

Conestoga students showed an increase in the three main academic categories, which are math, English language arts, and science and biology.
The largest score increase was in math, where in 2014-2015 the high school earned just 79.96 points. But the 2015-2016 score spiked to 94.96 points.

ELA scores went from 84.76 to 95.17 and the science and biology score went from 80.78 to 94.4.
In previous years, the graduation rate hovered between 99.8 and 99.2 percent. But the 2015-2016 year was stellar in that 100 percent of students graduated.
The assessment, done each year, gives each school a score of up to 100 using several factors, including test scores, student improvement from the past year, as well as graduation rates.
This year’s School Performance Profile scores are the first to reflect student performance on the new more rigorous PSSA, according to officials at the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Officials say the School Performance Profile is just one indicator of how schools are supporting student learning.
Because the formula used to determine the score is "heavily dependent" on standardized test scores, the department is working with stakeholders to determine how to make it a "better, more holistic measure," Pennsylvania Department of Education Secretary Pedro Rivera said.
