Conestoga Pioneers Winning Games!

Congratulations to the Stoga Pioneers Varsity, JV and Freshmen teams and their coaches on their wins in each of their last games!

The Stoga Pioneers Varsity team had an exciting 21-0 victory over Harriton in last Friday’s Homecoming Game. A few highlights: 166 yards rushing including a 64-yard touchdown run by Milton Robinson; 21-yard touchdown run by Amani Christopher; a 51-yard punt return for a touchdown by Peyton Jones and Jackson Niness and Tate Kienzle, who combined for 22 tackles (3 for a loss) 1 batted ball and 1 interception, leading the defense with a shut-out.

The Stoga Pioneers JV team overcame a 6-0 deficit at halftime in Monday’s game, scoring 14 points in the second half, to defeat Harriton’s JV team 14-6. The Stoga team scored on a 1 yard touchdown run by QB Cam Marcus, and then a 43 yard passing touchdown from Marcus to Sean Bacskai. Stoga then scored on a 2 point conversion as Ryan Duffy threw a ferocious block allowing Marcus to run the ball into the end zone. Blair Horning, Steve Turocy, and the entire defense were dominant, limiting Harriton to 6 points. As the clock was running down, Charlie Baker had a big interception to secure the victory.

The Stoga Pioneers Freshmen team also had a great game last Wednesday with their 8-6 win over Springfield High School! The Pioneers won the game with a break away touchdown run by running back Liam Kirk. Stoga then scored a 2 point conversion in the end zone on a pass by QB Chris McGovern and an amazing catch by Deacon Mayock. Stoga defense held Springfield in the last minute for the win, while throughout the game the Freshmen linebackers and secondary were making great hits!

Varsity plays again tonight at Upper Darby.
