Conestoga Sophomore's Poem Wins National Competition

The poem won a national Earth Day poetry competition sponsored by the American Chemical Society.

A Conestoga High School sophomore has won a national poetry competition, according to StogaNews.com

Emma Jiang submitted her poem to the American Chemical Society’s Earth Day competition, which challenged students from around the country to come up with a poem and an illustration.

The project was originally part of an extra-credit assignment in chemistry class, the report states.

casting shadows the stretched the streets

now is the time

to conserve, recycle, preserve

rescue, revise, re-establish
