
BERWYN, PA – A sports coach in the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District reached a major milestone in her coaching career recently, as she has led her team to its 500th win after more than 40 years of coaching.
The district announced Conestoga Girls Tennis Coach Fran Tomaselli celebrated her 500th win on Monday, Oct. 2.
The 500th win came out of a match against Downingtown West High School. 'Stoga won the match 5-2, netting Tomaselli her milestone victory.

Tomaselli, who has led the team for 41 years, joined the team in fall 1977 while teaching math in the district.
Her classroom career ended in 2011 when she retired, but her tennis coaching career pressed on.

Her record overall is 500-127-1. Quite impressive.
"Her commitment and dedication to the sport and her devotion and authenticity toward her players is evident by the success she has brought to the girls tennis program," the district said of Tomaselli. "During her coaching career, the program has won an amazing 17 Central Athletic League Championships and made 10 appearances in the PIAA Class 3A Tennis Tournament."
Her philosophy is to create a family atmosphere among the team while guiding her players to develop personal goals, the district said. The message she tells her players before matches? “Win your matches, be competitive and do your best, but most of all, have fun and enjoy yourselves.”
