DA: Berwyn Man Had Sex With 14-Year-Old Trafficking Victim

The young teen had been forced into prostitution, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said.

A Berwyn man was arrested and charged Tuesday with having sex with a 14-year-old human trafficking victim, the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office said.

The arrest of Brian Meehan, 56, of Berwyn, “comes after a lengthy Grand Jury and Police Special Victims Unit investigation,” the District Attorney’s Office said.

The 14-year-old girl was forced into prostitution by a Germantown couple who threatened to kill her if she did not have sex with men for money, the District Attorney’s Office said.

On multiple occasions, the District Attorney’s Office said, the girl was taken to Meehan’s Center City law firm office at One Penn Center where she engaged in both vaginal and oral intercourse with Meehan.

The victim testified to a Grand Jury that “Meehan told her he knew that she was only 14 years old, that he liked younger girls, and that the youngest girl he had sex with was a 12-year-old,” the District Attorney’s Office said.

SVU detectives searched Meehan’s office and “recovered forensic materials consistent with sexual acts occurring in there,” the District Attorney’s Office said.

Meehan faces charges of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse; Statutory Sexual Assault; Unlawful Contact with a Minor; Corrupting the Morals of a Minor; Indecent Assault; Promoting Prostitution of a Minor; and Patronizing Prostitutes. He turned himself in to police Tuesday morning, the District Attorney’s Office said.
