DA Holding School Shooting Summit At Valley Forge MS Tuesday

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan will discuss how to prevent shootings, what happens during a shooting, and risk assessment.

WAYNE, PA – The Chester County District Attorney's Office is hosting a special school shooting presentation Tuesday night at Valley Forge Middle School in Wayne.

DA Tom Hogan will lead the discussion, which begins at 7 p.m. at the school, located at 105 Walker Road in Wayne.

The presentation will give parents and school personnel a behind-the-scenes look at the issue of school shootings.

Topics at the presentation include the basic background environment for school shootings; categories and evolution of school shooters; tactics for preventing school shootings; what happens in a school shooting; and a risk assessment for your school.

Additionally, Downingtown Detective Andy Trautmann – a SWAT commander, school resource officer, and the man who designed Chester County’s response to active shooter – will speak at the event.

Following Hogan and Trautmann's presentations, there will be a question-and-answer session during which the two will give frank answers to participants' questions about school shootings.
