Devon Horse Show Chairman Cited For Public Drunkenness
The Devon Horse Show Chairman has been cited for public drunkenness - and then reportedly denied that the citation ever occurred.

The Chairman of the Corporate Board at the Devon Horse show has been cited for public drunkenness, according to court records and police.
Wayne Grafton, 67, of Unionville, was cited on May 31 at 10:17 p.m. on South Valley Forge Road in Devon, just outside the grounds of the Horse Show, police said.
The Daily Local News reports that Grafton had created a “physically offensive scene” and “placed himself in danger" due to his level of intoxication.

Grafton, however, seems not to remember the incident, telling Main Line Media news that it never occurred.

Mr. Grafton has held senior management and consulting positions in the public and private sectors, as well as for non-profit organizations for over forty years. Mr. Grafton holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. He is a well-known lecturer on Land Use Planning issues and is a Principle in The Grafton Association. Throughout his career he has continuously been involved with a variety of philanthropic activities. Mr. Grafton has been on the Board of the Ludwig’s Corner Horse Show, having served as the President for 5 years. Currently, he is a Board member of the Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation and President of The Philadelphia Four-in-Hand Club. Additionally, he was involved with the Evening in Old Saratoga Drive which benefited The New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania. Furthermore, he was a committee member on the Laurels at Landhope Combined Driving Committee. Mr. Grafton has been a box holder and supporter of the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair for over 30 years with his wife, Marjorie, who has been a competitor in the carriage division for many years.
