For families in need, purchasing school supplies can be a difficult situation.
This year, for nearly 200 families in North Philadelphia, getting the necessary school supplies was made a little easier with help from Devon Preparatory School’s Christian Action Program (CAP), according to a press release.
Throughout the summer members of (CAP) collected 5000 school items for St. Elizabeth’s Community Center in North Philadelphia. These items included notebooks, pencils, crayons, pens, folders, backpacks, copybooks, erasers, index cards and just about anything else needed for school, the release states.

The supplies were distributed to school age children during St. Elizabeth’s annual Community Block Party, Devon said.
