Downed Light Pole Caused By Hit And Run: Tredyffrin Police

Police said a flatbed truck struck the pole at about 8:14 a.m. then drove off heading north on North Valley Road.

PAOLI, PA — Tredyffrin Township Police said the pole that crashed down Thursday in Paoli was the result of a morning hit-and-run.

Police said the crash occurred at about 8:14 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17 at intersection of Lancaster Avenue/Route 30 and North Valley Road in the Paoli section.

Officers responding to the intersection found the traffic control signal on the Northeast corner damaged and lying in the roadway.

Police said a flatbed truck hauling a large piece of construction equipment struck the signal pole as it attempted to turn right going northbound onto North Valley Road from westbound on Lancaster Avenue.

The truck did not stop at the scene and was last see going north on North Valley Road.

As a result of this crash, the roadway was closed for several hours while repairs were made.
