E. Central Ave. Sidewalk Opens, Water Work Still Needed

The township said the entire E. Central Avenue Multi-Modal Project is expected to finish later this year.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – Tredyffrin Township said sidewalk and curb work on the south side of East Central Avenue are now complete as part of the E. Central Avenue Multi-Modal project.

The township said a small portion of the sidewalk still needs a utility pole relocation, however.

Additionally, Aqua Pennsylvania is replacing the existing 16-inch and 6-inch cast iron water mains on East Central Avenue.

The construction of the new line is expected to be completed in September, and then Aqua will be testing and chlorinating the new service line, as well as making connections to all the various users, which will occur in October, the township said.

The water main replacement is expected to be done in early November.

Once Aqua's work is finished, the road will be resurfaced and additional work will be completed on ADA ramps at five north side intersections, as well as the raised crosswalks from those ramps to the sidewalk on the south side of E. Central Avenue, the township said.

This work is expected to be completed prior to the end of the year, pending Aqua's timely completion of their project.
