Easttown Library Hosting "Block Party" For Tykes

There won't be music and barbecue, but there will be developmental lessons learned while the kids have fun

The Easttown Library is hosting Block Parties for kids. No there won't be music or food like a typical block party. These block parties are geared toward encouraging developmental skills in young kids.

Wednesdays Jan. 11, Feb. 8, and March 9 at 4:30 p.m. kids ages 3 to 5 are invited to come to the library to work enjoy block building while learning developmental skills.

Kids will learn cooperation, hand-eye coordination, balance, shapes, initiative, and more skills just by playing with blocks and having fun.

The library's new wooden block set was purchased on a grant through the Office of Commonwealth Libraries' Cruising to Kindergarten initiative, the library said.

Easttown Library is located at 720 First Ave., Berwyn.
