Easttown Library Hosting Henry David Thoreau Presentation Tuesday

Learn how Thoreau's goal to live deliberately affects the world today.

American Romantic, naturalist, and transcendentalist author-philosopher Henry David Thoreau wanted to "live deliberately." So he left town and lived on Walden Pond in Concord. Mass for two years where he documented his life living off the land.

The Easttown Library wants to explore how Thoreau's 1840s experiment affects the public over 150 years later through a presentation called Henry David Thoreau & His Relevance for Today. The presentation begins at 7 p.m., Tuesday Oct. 11 at the library. Register for the presentation here.

Writer, poet, librarian, and outdoor education teacher Corinne Smith will lead the presentation where she will cover how Thoreau's philosophies resound with the public today.
