Easttown Police Warn Of Blackmail Scheme Making Rounds
Police said there have been reports of people getting calls, letters, and emails where the sender claims to have information on victims.

EASTTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA – Police in Easttown Township are warning residents of a blackmail-type scheme making rounds in the area and urge the public to not give up personal information or money to the scammers.
Police said a new scam alleges to have "evidence of something you have been hiding" and demand $2,500 in Bitcoin, an online digital currency.
The sender will either call, mail a letter, or send an email to the victim saying they have dirt on them, police said.

Police said under no circumstances should the public give the black mailers social security numbers, bank account information, or wire them any money.
Police said no matter what person or private information the black mailers say they have, you should contact you local police department.
