Easttown Supervisor Retires After 18 Years
Easttown Board of Supervisors Chairman Ed Strogen attended his last meeting as an Easttown supervisor on Monday night.
Easttown Board of Supervisors Chairman Ed Strogen attended his last meeting as an Easttown Supervisor on Monday after 18 years of service to the township.
Strogen has served three six-year terms on Easttown's Board of Supervisors, from June 1993 through Dec. 2011. In that time, he served as vice chairman four times, as well as board chairman four times.
Strogen also served as a liason to numerous committees, including the Municipal Advisory Commission, Parks and Recreation, Easttown Municipal Authority, Emergency Management and Public Services.
Strogen will officially retire at the end of year.
According to Supervisor Marc Heppe, no one has previously served as a supervisor as long as Strogen has.
"It's a monumental achievement by any standard," Board Vice Chairman Richard Frazier said.
The board presented Strogen with a resolution of appreciation and a map of the township at the board's business meeting Monday night.
"Mr. Strogen has brought to the board his strategic thinking, fairness and honesty … and 18 years of his time, knowledge, abilities and wisdom unselfishly and tirelessly … while working effortlessly for the betterment of all its residents," Frazier said.
"The Board of Supervisors, on behalf of the citizens of Easttown Township, express our profound thanks, respect, admiration and affection."
