Eleven newborns leaped into the world on a day that won't come again for four years.

PAOLI, PA -- Eleven newborns leaped into the world on a day that won’t come again for four years.

Paoli Hospital welcomed the group on Monday, February 29.

The Leap Day occurs every four years during a Leap Year, in which February is extended an extra day from its usual 28 days to a 29th day.

According to The Atlantic, ”leaplings” defy 1-in-1,461 odds to claim February 29 as their birthday.

There are only 187,000 leaplings in the United States, The Atlantic said.

There is no consensus among this group or among officials as to when leaplings should celebrate their birthdays. Some celebrate on February 28 during off-years, while others celebrate on March 1.
