Dear Fire Chief Eamon Brazunas,
Our Perry Family thinks about the Berwyn Firefighters daily. You, Paoli, Radnor, and Valley Forge Firefighters were/are an amazing group of men and women and so we thank you all very much.
As you all know on July 4, 2017 we had a house fire started by a tree going down between our home and a neighbors which we believed was an electrical fire under a desk in our ‘plaid room' where we kept our computers, copies, and files. Between 6 fire trucks and 45-50 firefighters, the fire was contained to 1 home and we are most thankful to those men and women who gave up an afternoon on July 4th to saving our home before going to picnics and to the fireworks. We look forward to having our 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms restored by January and our living room, dining room and kitchen livable once again.
It’s taken us months to thank you, however, we want to thank you for your prompt response, your firefighters skills and for a caring attitude of saving so many of our memories and possessions. You are the GREATEST!
Enclosed is a token of our appreciation and gratitude for helping the Perry family on a busy 4th of July 2017.

Back in July, fire officials said the home incurred about $78,000 in damage from the fire.
The blaze broke out at about 2:42 p.m.
When crews from Berwyn, Radnor, Paoli, and Valley Forge fire companies arrived, they found fire showing in the second floor of the home and police confirmed all residents safely left the home, the fire company said.
While firefighters contained the blaze by about 3:10 p.m., they had to cut into the home's walls and ceilings to ensure no lingering flames were in the home, the fire company said.
No one was injured in the fire.
A tree hit electrical wires in the neighborhood, causing a power outage before the fire, according to the fire company.
The Chester Fire County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the fire and determined it was accidental and electrical in nature.
