The latest closures between First Avenue and Trooper Road are part of the ongoing construction to build new bridges on 422.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has been periodically closing lanes for construction since it began in February 2016.

The project is ultimately estimated to be completed in May 2020.
In the Valley Forge area, projects include improving and adding bridges over Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, and South Trooper Road, in addition to adding several new ramps and interchanges.

Eastbound and westbound U.S. 422 will be reduced from two lanes to one tonight, July 11, through Thursday, July 14, for median shoulder excavation and paving, PennDOT said.
The lane closure on U.S. 422 east will be in place each night from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, according to officials. The westbound lane closure will occur from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning.
The contractor’s work schedule is dependent on the weather.
