Free Gun Locks Available From Tredyffrin Police Department

Firearms and firearm safety have been a major discussion topic recently, and Tredyffrin Police want to help keep your firearm secure.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – Firearms and firearm safety have been a major discussion topic recently, and Tredyffrin Police want to help keep your firearm secure.

The police department is offering residents a free kit that includes a gun lock and a brochure on firearm safety. Brochures are also available in Spanish.

Residents can pick up the free kits in the main lobby of the Tredyffrin Township Administration Building during normal business hours.

The kits are made available thanks to Project ChildSafe, police said.

Project ChildSafe has a goal of "promoting genuine firearm safety through the distribution of safety education messages and free firearm safety kits."

"Partnered with more than 15,000 law enforcement agencies across the Country, the Program has provided over 37 million firearm safety kits to gun owners in all 50 states and five U.S. territories - completely free of charge," police said.

The Tredyffrin Township Administration Building is located at 1100 Duportail Road, Berwyn and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
