Garnet Valley Thumps Conestoga in Road Loss
Pioneers only eek out two scores against the Glen MIlls team.
GLEN MILLS—The were no match for the Garnett Valley Jaguars offensive bombardment in this Central League opener, dropping the road match, 42-12.
A lone bright spot was junior Andrew Destefano, who scored the team's two TDs against Garnet Valley (1-1). Last season, Conestoga (1-1) relied heavily on their experienced offense—but key changes have occurred in this year's roster.
With junior Joe Viviano taking over as quarterback, along with new faces in the positions of linemen and wide outs, the Pioneers failed to score more than two TDs (or convert on 2-point attempts). The defense, a weak point in the previous season, showed improvement but was unable to stop Garnet Valley from the overwhelming victory.
