Tredyffrin Gas Leak Sealed, Area Cleared: Officials
Police said residents may return to their homes and normal traffic may resume after a gas main leak forced officials to evacuate the area.

BERWYN, PA – An area of Berwyn was been evacuated after a gas main leak occurred Thursday afternoon, according to Tredyffrin Township officials. Police said PECO crews have since sealed the leak and residents may return to their properties.
Officials said an eight-inch gas pressure main was punctured in the area of Old Lancaster Avenue and Howellville Road in Berwyn at about 1:30 p.m.
The area around the leak, including the Tredyffrin/Easttown Middle School and some surrounding homes and businesses, was evacuated as a precaution, officials said.

While traffic is open again in the area, PECO crews will continue working on restoration, officials said.
