Heaberg Indicates He Will Seek A Recount
Heaberg tells Patch the margin in Tuesday's Special Election is only eight votes.

In an email to TE Patch, Republican Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors incumbent Mike Heaberg indicates he will call for a recount in the race Democrat challenger Molly Duffy currently leads by a small, possibly razor thin margin.
With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Chester County's official voter services website count put Heaberg at 2,226 votes to Duffy's 2,266. There were three write in votes reported. Normally three votes would not be statistically significant, but this race is shaping up to be anything but normal.
Heaberg says the margin is only eight votes. He says there were reports of voting machine malfunctions, but he did not offer any further details. The text of Heabgerg's emailed statement reads:

"I want to thank the people of Tredyffrin who supported me in this race and responded to my 100% positive message of standing up for taxpayers while delivering essential services and addressing issues important to citizens across the Township.
"According to Chester County Voter Services, there have been multiple reports of malfunctioning voting machines at a number of precincts across the county, including a number in Tredyffrin Township. With the County’s vote differential at just eight votes and these reports of malfunctioning machines, I believe it is vital that a new tabulation be undertaken to ensure a fair and accurate count.

" I look forward to continuing a full debate on all of the issues in the coming months as we look toward victory in November."
Heaberg declined the opportunity to elaborate further.
