Tredyffrin Township Police released its latest crime update, highlighting police activity in the township from March 17 to March 28.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

March 17, Areas of Red Fox Road, School Lane, Old Eagle School Road and Chestnut Lane in the Wayne section of the township – Several residents reported their unlocked vehicles were rummaged through during the overnight hours. Items stolen included wallets, credit cards, cash, identification and a checkbook. Some of the credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases.

POSSESSION

March 18, 12:51 a.m, Route 202 – Police charged Harold Barrow, 40, of Philadelphia with Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Paraphernalia during a traffic stop.

EMBLEM THEFT

March 20, 4 p.m., Main Street in Wayne – The victim reported the BMW emblem was stolen from the rear of their vehicle during the overnight hours.

IDENTITY THEFT

March 21, noon, 200 block of Vincent Road in Paoli – The victim reported two auto loans for Corvettes were taken out using their personal information. Both vehicles were purchased through dealerships in Texas. The case is under investigation.

WALLET THEFT

March 24, 9:16 p.m., Pugh Road in Wayne – The victim reported their wallet stolen after they received a call from their credit card company informing them of suspicious transactions on their credit cards. The case is under investigation.

FLEEING/ELUDING POLICE

March 27, 7:40 p.m. Route 202 – Benjamin Gregory Kaupp, 28, of West Chester, was charged with Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Police and other vehicle code violations after he drove off while an officer was conducting a traffic stop. The officer had already approached the car when the driver fled. The police successfully contacted Kaupp at his residence, where he was taken into custody and processed.

SIMPLE ASSAULT

March 28, 8:50 p.m., West Central Avenue in Paoli – Police charged John Golden, 40, of Trooper, with the following offenses: Simple Assault; Harassment; Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Recklessly Endangering another Person during a domestic dispute.
