Keep Calm........And Watch Jane Austen!

Friends of Easttown Library Host Jane Austen Film Festival

The Friends of Easttown Library hosted a Jane Austen Film Festival on January 22nd through 25th. In addition to viewing seven movies based on the novels and life of the astute social commentator and brilliant writer, festival attendees enjoyed refreshments courtesy of A Taste of Britain, Aneu, Clay’s Creative Corner, Wegman’s and Trader Joe’s. The event opened with a trivia quiz designed to delight and challenge true ”Austenites” and fun door prizes were awarded at each showing. A raffle basket was available to win, with such amazing contents that the thrilled winner could be heard all the way up and down the Eastern Seaboard, such was her excitement. A highlight of the festival was a conversation led by Elizabeth Steel, of the Jane Austen Society of North America, who shared insights, stories, and information about Jane Austen and the making of the films based on her work and life. Proceeds from the event benefit the Easttown Library.
