Lane Closing On Eastbound 422 Ramp In Tredyffrin

A project to build new, wider bridges to improve travel on 422 will affect drivers heading east on 422 from 1st Avenue, PennDOT said.

TREDYFFRIN, PA – A single lane closure is scheduled on the ramp from First Avenue to eastbound U.S. 422 in Tredyffrin Township, as well as Upper Merion Township, for two days, according to PennDOT.

PennDOT said the closure will be in place between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday July 20, and Friday,
July 21.

Drivers traveling in the area should plan for increased travel time as backups will occur, PennDOT said,

The closure will accommodate work on the $97.4 million project to build new, wider bridges to improve travel and carry U.S. 422 motorists over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road and Schuylkill River Trail in West Norriton, Upper Merion and Lower Providence townships, PennDOT said.

The project includes improving U.S. 422 between the Route 23/Valley Forge Road and Route 363/Trooper Road interchanges; upgrading Valley Forge Road at its interchange with U.S. 422; and improving ramps at the Trooper Road, Valley Forge Road and First Avenue interchanges.

The project is projected to finish in May 2020.
