Glatts is a graduate of the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy and began his career with the Aston Borough Police Department. He was sworn in as a Tredyffrin officer in January 1988; was promoted to “Class A” patrolman in January 1991; and was promoted to sergeant in November 2003. He has been honored as a Tredyffrin Township Police “Officer of the Year.”
Glatts in 2009 was awarded the Lifesaving Commendation for the rescue of a disabled resident from her burning home, police said.
Glatts is assigned as the Operations Lieutenant and is charged as a member of the Police Department’s Command Staff, overseeing the patrol division, police said.
“We are honored to have Lieutenant Glatts as a part of our command staff team,” Superintendent Anthony Giaimo said. “Joe is highly respected by his fellow law-enforcement officers, township staff and the community.”
Glatts will replace Lieutenant Leon Jaskuta, who is retiring at the end of the month after a long and decorated career as a member of Tredyffrin Township Police Department, police said.
