Longtime Tredyffrin Police Officer Promoted To Lieutenant
Lt. Timothy Brown has served the department for 23 years, following in the footsteps of his father who served the department for 32 years.

TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP, PA – A longtime member of the Tredyffrin Township Police Department was promoted to a new rank Wednesday night during a ceremony before the Tredyffrin Township Supervisors.
Lt. Timothy Brown was officially appointed to the lieutenant rank on Nov. 8, with Police Superintendent Mike Beaty presenting his lieutenant badge and Chairman of the Supervisors Trip Lukens presiding over the ceremony.
Brown is a 23-year member of the force, following in the footsteps of his father, Lt. Carl Brown, who served on the force for 32 years.

Before joining TTPD, Brown served in the United States Marine Corps from 1989 to 1993 where he reached the rank of corporal. In the corps, he served at postings with security forces and asset protection, as well as with the infantry.
From 2003 to 2008, Brown was a corporal and was second in command of a patrol squadron with the Tredyffrin Police Department.

From 2008 to 2015 he was a sergeant in charge of the Traffic Safety Unit.
In his new role, which was effective Nov. 1, Brown is taking command over the Patrol Division in the department's Operations Command unit.
He is also the department's lead firearm instructor, an emergency vehicle operation and control instructor, and is the team leader of the Chester County Regional Emergency Response Team.
During his time at TTPD, brown has earned numerous citations for bravery, valor, and heroism for his actions, including pursuing and capturing a bank robber in 2004.
