Major Water Main Work Coming To Tredyffrin Twp.
Aqua PA will be working in the township from late October to February 2017

Eight streets in Tredyffrin Township is undergo water main replacement beginning Oct. 24, according to Aqua PA. The work is expected to be completed in February 2017, the company said.
Aqua PA will be installing 7,560 feet of 8- and 6-inch ductile iron pipes on these streets:
- Trephanny Lane, between Upper Weadley Road and end of cul-de-sac;
- Upper Weadley Road, between Rittenhouse Lane and Old Eagle School Road;
- Rittenhouse Lane, between Upper Weadley Road and end of cul-de-sac;
- Harwick Road, between Upper Weadley Road and end of cul-de-sac;
- Barton Lane, between Upper Weadley Road and end of cul-de-sac;
- Arlyn Circle, between Barton Lane and end of cul-de-sac;
- Fernfield Circle, between Old Eagle School Road and end of cul-de-sac;
- Trowill Lane, between Old Eagle School Road and end of cul-de-sac.
Work will be done on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Access will be provided for emergency, mail and trash services, Aqua PA said. Residents will have access to their properties, but at times will need to enter from different directions due to changing work zones. We will notify customers 24 hours in advance of any scheduled shutdown. However, as with any construction project, an emergency shutdown might be necessary.
Following the installation of the new water main, there will be a period of time during which the main will be chlorinated and tested before being put into service," an Aqua PA letter addressed to Terdyffrin Township residents said. "Once testing has been completed, we will transfer each water service and any fire hydrants onto the new main, then make the final connections on the side streets and abandon the old main. It is important to note that the trench will be covered with temporary black top at the end of each work day."

The company said the new mains will increase service reliability, reduce the potential for discolored water and improve firefighting capabilities in the area. The project's total cost is $1.62 million.
