Malvern Bank Donates Nearly 300 Pounds Of Food

In addition to the food donations to West Chester Food Cupboard, Malvern Bank also donated more than $500 through a social media campaign.

PAOLI, PA — A local bank recently donated nearly 300 pounds of food to the West Chester Food Cupboard through its winter food drive, which included both customer and employee donations.

Malvern Bank donated 284 pounds of food to the West Chester Food Cupboard thanks to the drive, which ran from Nov. 15, 2019 to Dec. 20, 2019.

Additionally, the bank gave a check for $518 to the West Chester Food Cupboard representing the value of the food donated plus proceeds from the Bank’s #GivingTuesday Facebook promotion.

In the promotion, the bank donated $1 for every Facebook “Like” or “Share” on Giving Tuesday, which is a global generosity movement that highlights one day a year – the first Tuesday in December – to encourage people to do good in their communities.

"On behalf of our customers and employees, Malvern Bank is pleased to have the opportunity to assist our community members during this time of need," said Patricia McLennan, the Bank’s Senior Vice President, Director of Community Development. "The West Chester Food Cupboard is a volunteer-run organization that provides a vital service to residents in Chester County."
